FIFA will discuss the debt problems facing European clubs at their executive meeting on March 18, general secretary Jerome Valcke has confirmed

"It will be discussed...we have an executive committee meeting in the middle of March and that is when these types of things will be discussed, also potentially discussed before with (UEFA president) Michel Platini," Valcke said in reply to a question on European club debt.

"I'm sure that in his fight for financial fair play that he has for the European is something that is a problem for him now what is happening in the Premier League."

A UEFA report this week showed that some European clubs were deeply in debt, particularly in England which accounted for 56 per cent of the commercial debt of Europe's 732 first division clubs.

Portsmouth are expected to become the first Premier League club to go into administration on Friday, with debts of 70 million.
