Championship - Jones turns down Peterborough offer
Peterborough goalkeeper Paul Jones has rejected the club's offer of a new contract and could leave London Road this summer.
Jones, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, has spent much of the campaign as the first choice keeper at Posh.
Manager Darren Ferguson has not given up on persuading the 25-year-old to stay and he told the media: "We offered Paul a contract but it has been turned down and we are at something of a standstill with it. We are still in talks but it is fair to say they have not been fruitful so far."
Ferguson admitted he has lined up potential targets in case a deal cannot be struck, adding: "I have identified other targets and we do have interest in another goalkeeper, but I want Paul to stay here and hopefully we can get it sorted."
