Veteran French climber David Moncoutie has taken a solo stage 11 of the Tour of Spain on the summit finish of Manzaneda as Briton Bradley Wiggins took the overall race lead on Wednesday.
Moncoutie attacked with 12 kilometres left and sealed his fourth stage win in four years of the Tour of Spain.
Spain's Benat Intxausti finished second and Luis Leon Sanchez, also of Spain, third.
After overnight leader Christopher Froome fell back three kilometres from the summit, his Sky team mate Wiggins drove hard on the front to move into the overall lead.
The Tour of Spain finishes on Sept. 11 in Madrid.
