I love Juan Mata. I love his accuracy. Mata, 30 metres in front of goal, is deadly for any defence.
Chelsea's problem is to be able to get him in this position. When he plays too far away from the goal he is not the kind of player who plays deep between the lines. However, when he is close to the goal, it is a different story.
Mata is a former attacker who has switched to being a midfield passer. That is why, when he is in front of the goal, he is very dangerous. I like the accuracy of his assists as well.
As for Andre Villas-Boas, I think that each age has its own quality, and obviously, at 34 years old, you cannot have the experience of a guy who is 54.
From another perspective, he has other qualities. He is closer to his players thanks to his age; he is tougher. He has already proven that he can win, so why will he not be able to win with Chelsea?
When you are young, your age is a problem; when you are old, your age is a problem. To sum up, the most important thing is that he is competent.
Chelsea has a team which is in search of confidence. They are also in a rebuilding phase, and then there is always a tough period when new players arrive at a club where there are elder statesmen of the team who represent the history of the club.
Players like John Terry, Didier Drogba and Ashley Cole have made the club a success. Chelsea need an adjustment period. They have not found the perfect balance yet.
I think that Chelsea are a very good team. However, in England when you are weakened, you have to endure criticism and then you have to be solid in the club to live with that.
We went through this phase in the beginning of the season, and now Chelsea are in this phase too.
Contrary to what people say, I think they still have a good team, a smart coach who will save the team if he is allowed to do so.
