Eurosport expert Arsene Wenger issued a stern warning to
Juventus as he gave his thoughts on the latest round of Europa League matches.
Juventus face a trip to Poland to take on Lech Poznan, and
the Gunners boss believes it will be a difficult match for the Italians.
"It's not going to be easy for Juventus because Lech Poznan
defeated Manchester City there," said Wenger.
"Arsenal played at Legia Warsaw before the beginning of
the season. So I can tell you that going to Poland now, in December, it's going
to be very tough. Lech Poznan have already beaten Manchester City, so now they will
think why not defeat beat Juventus too? It's going to be a very tough game."
Wenger also believes Lille can expect a difficult time as
they travel to Lisbon to play Sporting - and called into question the French
side's commitment to the tournament.
"Lille are doing well. But they play better in
Ligue 1 than in the Europa League," he said.
"Are they trying to save some energy? Are they
completely focused on the Europa League?
"And winning in Portugal is very complicated for
everybody. With Arsenal in the Champions League we have never won in Portugal.
"They play above themselves in the Europa Cup, they make
themselves very tough to beat at home. It is going to be difficult for
Wenger also discussed PSV Eindhoven's clash with Sampdoria -
a match he believes can go either way.
"It's a very open match," he said. "You never
beat PSV easily.
"They always manage to re-build their teams because
they have a big scouting network. They are really tough to defeat.
"Dutch players never give the ball away easily, and you
never beat them easily because they always behave intelligently. And they are
not scared to play."
