The world's most famous satirical website has decided to make fun of the world's most famous cycling race.

Yes, The Onion have released a new video bringing the news that the Tour de France is on hold as "cyclists ride over creek to check out bags".

The Onion's hard hitting news report reveals that the "legendary bicycle race is on hold after excited riders discovered a secret path through a forest that had tons of cool jumps and ended down by a nasty old creek."

Playfully making fun of the innocence of children on bikes it provides plenty of laughs.

Whether Andre Greipel will appreciate being cast as the main trouble maker though remains to be seen.

Back in the real world, there's no time for fun and frolics as Tuesday sees one of the toughest stages of this year's race, a 237km hike through the Pyrenees to Bagneres-de-Luchon.

You can watch the final week of the REAL Tour de France on the Eurosport Player.
