Miracles at the Masters: The greatest shots in the history of Augusta National

Bunker Mentality

The Masters at Augusta always witnesses some incredible shots - shots which have gone down in history as some of the most amazing in the game.

Bunker Mentality has many favourites from down the years, such as Sandy Lyle's shot from a fairway bunker on the final hole to set up a winning birdie in 1998 and Nick Faldo's miraculous eagle putt on the 2nd to help him on his way to the second of his Augusta victories back in 1990.

In this video, a group of journalists from US magazines Golf World and Golf Digest pick out their all-time favourites, from Gene Sarazen's famous albatross in 1935 - which became known as "the shot heard around the world" - to Tiger Woods's magical chip-in at the 16th en route to the Masters title in 2005.

The writers explain their views in the video above, but here are there choices:

- -

Gene Sarazen's albatross with his second shot to the 15th in 1935

Just a few minutes before he hit his famous second shot, Sarazen had been told by fellow competitor Walter Hagen that the tournament was all but over as Craig Wood had made a birdie up ahead. "Oh, I don't know," was his response. "They might go in from anywhere."

- -

Bubba Watson's hook out of the woods on the 10th in the play-off in 2012

People have holed shots to win Majors in play-offs before now, but nobody has ever pulled off such a miraculous recovery shot to claim one of golf's greatest events.

- -

Jack Nicklaus hits it to three feet at the 16th en route to winning in 1986

Perhaps the key moment in the greatest ever back-nine charge ever seen at Augusta - and accompanied by what Nicklaus called "the cockiest moment of my career".

- -

Nick Faldo's 2-iron to the par-5 13th green in 1996

The English superstar's laser-guided second shot to the green all but secured his third Green Jacket.

- -

Tiger Woods's chip-in at the par-3 16th in 2005

Quite simply, the most famous chip shot in the history of golf.
