The world's best golfers are good - but not infallible. Just ask Bill Davies.

Davies was working as a marshall on the 16th hole at The Open when he was clobbered by a wayward shot by Charl Schwartzel.

Then, just minutes later, it was Rickie Fowler who managed to take him down with another misplaced shot at the par-5.

“It hit me on the shoulder and I went down and lay there for a little bit of time, I wasn't too bad but having two detonating things happening to you within three quarters of hour, then you know, you start worrying,” Bill told the BBC.

The players apparently apologised as soon as they were told they'd hit him.

"Rickie Fowler was more interested, first thing in the ball, when I was lying on the floor... anyway he was very good about it, he said 'I'm sorry'."
