Everyone was talking about James Rodriguez following the World Cup finals but for Early Doors, the real revelation of Brazil 2014 was Rihanna's football punditry.
The superstar singer live tweeted plenty of the games, producing incisive tactical insights and speaking her mind on all manner of matters, from Thomas Mueller's habit of finding space to Argentina's threat on the counter.
Argentina's counter attack is SICK!!!

Not only that: RiRi then became Germany's number one fan, declaring her love for Die Mannschaft and even celebrating their World Cup win with Jogi Loew's squad.
It appears her immersion in football's inner sanctum has not gone unnoticed, as now fans of French club Lens have started a movement to get the pop star to buy up their club.
Lens supporters have become disillusioned by the state of the club after they were initially refused promotion this season due to irregularities in the club accounts. When they finally were promoted, they were restricted over transfers and the club is still waiting for 4 million euros from owner Hafiz Mammadov - the man also trying to buy Sheffield Wednesday.
With so much uncertainty around the club, Lens fans have now launched a Twitter campaign to convince RiRi to buy them up and replace Gervais Martel as president, using he #RihannaForRCLens hashtag:

Perhaps the thought isn't entirely outlandish: after all the Daily Mail did recently report Rihanna was looking to buy a club in England...
