The first leg of Standard Liege's Jupiler League play-off against Anderlecht was delayed seven minutes because there was too much toilet paper on the pitch.

The referee made the decision after fans at one end of the Maurice Dufrasne Stadium pulled off a prearranged show in which they made it rain with hundreds of rolls of toilet paper.

While the momentary white-out looked nice, the resulting mess on the pitch required cleaning up. A small fire also broke out in the stands.

Here's video of the display...

Standard Liege went on to win 1-0 - Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez scored the goal.

It remains unclear if the players were then rewarded with all the free, unrolled toilet paper they could carry.
