This time last week, David Meyler was probably still reeling from being headbutted by Newcastle manager Alan Pardew, but on Sunday he showed he has taken the controversy in his stride.

Pardew is expected to be given a lengthy ban for his disgraceful behaviour in Newcastle’s Premier League win at Hull when he shoved his forehead at Meyler after a confrontation on the touchline.

The visit of another north-east side, Sunderland, gave Meyler the chance to revisit the incident when he scored in Hull’s 3-0 victory in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday afternoon.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder scored Hull City’s second goal and, as you can see from the video above, took the opportunity to celebrate in some style.

He isn’t the first football star to treat us to a hilarious celebration this weekend though.

On Saturday, Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o make light of recent debates over his age by pretending to walk like an OAP after scoring against Tottenham.
