AC Milan used a crazy free-kick tactic against Liverpool – but did it work?

It seems Filippo Inzaghi is already making his presence felt as AC Milan head coach.

The Rossoneri played Liverpool in America on Sunday and now footage has emerged of a rather bizarre free-kick routine deployed by the Italian club.

As Mario Balotelli lined up a set-piece in Charlotte, Milan's players broke into three groups of pairs in one of the most unusual deployments of players we have seen.

And in true Inzaghi style, at least four of them were offside.

The former Italy striker was famously once described as being "born in the offside position" by Sir Alex Ferguson, but Fergie never mentioned anything about bizarre set-piece formations.
