Sometimes young kids have a better perspective on things than adults, providing a fresh approach that can disarm the cynical, world-weary grown ups around them.

And so it was with giddy joy and gratitude that Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen responded to Boyd Gibson after the nine-year-old sent then a letter offering his unique insights into the transfer window.

The fearless youngster's bold list of summer transfer targets almost certainly means that Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gareth Bale and Lionel Messi will soon be arriving to join the Dons.

Sitting proudly among the Galacticos on Gibson's list was, of course, Scotland striker Kris Boyd. Surprisingly, Boyd was the only Kilmarnock player on the list.

The club were, quite rightly, quick to acknowledge the nine-year-old's wise transfer acumen and prudent investment proposals.

"Thanks Boyd Gibson from Aberdeen for your transfer suggestions!" a post on the club's official Twitter feed read.

"We'll be sure to pass them on to the manager!"
