We have seen some truly bizarre sports tattoos in our time, but this one really will divide opinion.
In a way it is hard to criticise Genoa captain Daniele Portanova for wanting to pay tribute to the clubs that have helped form the memories of his footballing career.
But equally, having bizarre little caricatures of stick men in funky shirts across one's belly is not something that seems ready for public approval.
The Serie A stalwart explained: "This tattoo is a present for the teams where I gave and received a bit of love."
Now that is touching, it really is. For so many handsomely-paid players a stint at a club is simply a money-making venture or a way to fulfil a selfish ambition.
But Portanova clearly carries with him great affection for the teams that he has represented. That, surely, is to be admired.
He proudly unveiled the tattoo on Twitter with the message: "Eccola!!!!!!!" (meaning "Here it is!!!!!!!").
The tattoo represents the teams he has represented, in this order: Fermana, Messina, Napoli, Bologna, Genoa, Siena.
What is not entirely clear is why one of the caricatures is of a woman with a crown on her head or why one of the men is wearing a cap while playing football - but hey, a touch of creative license is surely to be allowed.
Well, do you like Portanova's belly tat? Is it a nice tribute to the clubs that have formed his career or just another vulgar piece of body art from a bored footballer? Post your views below...
