Arsenal and Tottenham are bitter rivals on the pitch, and their fans seldom have a good thing to say about each other’s beloved clubs.
However, not all supporters are consumed by footballing rivalries.
Take the Tottenham-loving neighbours of Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, for instance.
Having watched their side finish behind the Gunners for the 19th straight season, it wouldn’t have been surprising if Grant and Ryan had opted to shun the Polish footballer’s invitations to hop over the fence for an impromptu barbeque.
Instead, they took football for the game that it is and sent their neighbour over this light-hearted Spurs card:
They congratulated him and his team-mates on again finishing in the top four, wished them luck in the FA Cup final (in which they meet Hull) and even offered forgiveness for his famous on-pitch ‘selfie’ after Arsenal beat Spurs at White Hart Lane this season.
The keeper was evidently chuffed with the token of esteem, posting the picture of the card on his Facebook account with the caption “Wow! This is class from my neighbours!”
Wonder if John Terry has this degree of rapport with his neighbours?
