Andy Carroll's £35 million move from Newcastle to Liverpool means he shifts clubs in our table of current injuries in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old target man was recently described as being "four or five weeks" away from fitness by former boss Alan Pardew.

Following Carroll's exit, Pardew was dealt a further blow to his forward line in the 1-0 defeat at Fulham when Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi suffered a suspected fractured cheekbone. If tests confirm the worst, he could be out for around six weeks.

Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has been ruled out of action for the rest of the

No Fantasy webchat today, as it is an FA Cup weekend. The Fantasist will be speaking to you live and direct on Monday ahead of the midweek Premier League fixtures.

But anyway, here's an update on the latest injury news.

Manchester City winger Adam Johnson had to be stretchered off the club's training ground on Friday after hurting his leg. The England international is definitely out of City's Cup trip to Notts County, and will have a scan before any decision is made about the match at Birmingham on Wednesday.

Gareth Bale will also miss out this weekend after hurting his back during the 1-1

It was all about contributions last weekend for The
Fantasist, who managed a decent score despite its players mustering just a
    single goal between them.

That solitary strike came from Gary Taylor-Fletcher, who has
managed two in two games since The Fantasist took a flier on him.

Even the Blackpool man could only muster 12 points amid a
    host of spectacularly unspectacular performances.

Gareth Bale top-scored with 14, while Charles N'Zogbia
    bottomed out at 2.5.

Edin Dzeko played 90 minutes but did not find the net
against Wolves, and those who missed him the first time around have another

Newcastle have confirmed that striker Andy Carroll will miss Saturday's home clash against Tottenham.

The Magpies number nine has not played since a 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture on December 28, and has not recovered from his thigh injury in time to face Spurs at St James' Park.

Spurs may soon have long-term absentees Jonathan Woodgate and Jamie O'Hara available again after the duo turned out for the reserves this week.

Chelsea are confident that Frank Lampard's calf injury will not rule him out of the trip to Bolton Wanderers on Monday.

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has confirmed that

Steven Gerrard, however, was the only Liverpool player to produce a decent return following

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli will have to wait and see whether he knee injury requires surgery or not, but it certainly rules him out for the foreseeable future.

The Italian's injury could have a knock-on effect, as it may denied Emmanuel Adebayor his desired move away from Eastlands.

Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Edwin van der Sar all have slight question marks over their fitness ahead of their trip to Tottenham, while Spurs' injury and suspension woes have eased considerably since their defeat at Everton.

Birmingham will be without defender Scott Dann when they welcome local
