    Manchester United's Champions League humiliation in Switzerland on Wednesday night also proved costly on the fitness front.

    Captain Nemanja Vidic was forced off with a nasty knee problem and although it is currently uncertain just how long he will be sidelined for, it is feared he has suffered ligament damage.

    Liverpool have ruled captain Steven Gerrard out of Sunday's big match with Manchester City and are refusing to put a date on his likely return.

    Gerrard has not featured for the club since a draw with Norwich City on October 22 as he has been suffering from an ankle infection.

    Tottenham rate star playmaker Rafael van der Vaart as a 75 per cent chance to feature in Monday night's fixture against Aston Villa.
