Tactical review: Fired up Gunners

Okay, so suggesting you pick several Arsenal players at home to Burnley was never going to be the most controversial call, but you certainly would have been rewarded.

Andrei Arshavin (14.64, 11.5 pts) announced his return to action with a goal, while Samir Nasri (10.02, 16 pts) proved a decent value pick if you didn't already have Cesc Fabregas (21.29, 10.5 pts) in your team.

Given his underwhelming performances of late, The Fantasist is sure it can be forgiven for excluding Theo Walcott (10.76, 25.50 pts) from its selection. The England winger's well-taken goal contributed to Brian Jensen's (5.15, 1.5 pts) low score. He and Clarets striker Martin Paterson (7.92, 0.5 pts) get another chance at home to Stoke on Wednesday.

In Friday's Choose 'em or Lose 'em came the warning that when Paul Scholes (7.30, 16 pts) doesn't score goals, his fantasy points haul is poor. Well, he scored the winner against Wolves, only his second league goal of the season, and therefore did well. Rio Ferdinand (7.62, 6 pts) also played his part in the win at Molineux and, fitness permitting, could be worth hanging on to for the title run-in.

An England centre-back who performed even better than the national team captain was England's Phil Jagielka (7.84, 8.5 pts), who has really hit the ground running since returning from his lengthy absence through injury. Toffees goalkeeper Tim Howard (8.20, 5 pts) would have scored higher were it not for Tom Cairney's cracking strike.

Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen (7.17, 11 pts) did his bit for the Trotters in their win at West Ham, and he has another chance to rack up the points at struggling Sunderland on Tuesday. Matt Taylor (12.89, 0 pts) had a rare start on the Bolton bench, so let's hope he sees more than 12 minutes of action at the Stadium of Light.

Several of last week's recommendations are yet to play in this gameweek, with Liverpool quartet Pepe Reina (11.50), Daniel Agger (8.62), Maxi Rodriguez (5.76) and Fernando Torres (18.25) lining up at Wigan tonight, while Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen (9.11) and Birmingham defender Liam Ridgewell (8.79 are both in action on Tuesday.
