last week, the Fantasist's performance should only be rated after the midweek
games featuring Chelsea, Villa, City, Everton, Pompey, Sunderland, West Ham,
Wolves, Birmingham and Blackburn.
it proved to be a decent start to the game week, with a number of picks putting
in sterling points performances.
Kirkland (2.64) was
an inspired selection, the Wigan keeper earning 16.50 points with a clean sheet
against Burnley. Likewise, Tim
Howard (7.18), who gathered 16 points, but
less so Brad Friedel (13.96) after the Villa keeper let in two
against Wolves and emerged from the weekend with a grand total of minus one.
The Fantasist is hoping for better against Sunderland.
Richard Dunne (11.45)
had a 'mare
against Wolves and won just two points, but random Birmingham choice Stephen Carr (7.58) came good. The
Fantasist advised you to get rid of Nemanja Vidic (10.94) and
rightly so - the Manchester United man was in minus figures again.
Further up the field, Mikel Arteta (9.05) was the pick of
the bunch in midfield, the Everton man claiming 21 points in a bumper week,
Fabregas (21.10) was an obvious
choice but one which paid off with the Arsenal skipper winning 15.50 points. Lee Bowyer (7.80), Joe Cole (7.49) were
total duds though.
Up front, Wayne Rooney (27.30, 11.50 points) or Fernando Torres (21.81, 9.0 points) were average picks only, considering
their prices, while fellow heavyweight Didier Drogba (26.11) did
marginally more to prove his worth with 14.50 points.
