On her day off before Saturday’s final, she tells Mats how she fights for every point, and how that has held her in good stead on the clay of Paris.

  • Game, Set and Mats: Tsonga’s big mistake revealed

Our expert Mats Wilander said Jo-Wilfried Tsonga made a big mistake which contributed to his defeat to Novak Djokovic at the French Open on Sunday.

Tsonga's match against the Serb started in front of a half-empty stadium as it followed Ernests Gulbis' shock win over Roger Federer, with lots of the fans inside court Philippe Chatrier opting to take a break from the tennis on offer.

That meant the Frenchman was a bit flat, losing some of his home advantage, and it was the same story at the French Open last year too as he followed a Djokovic-Nadal epic semi-final by losing to David Ferrer.

  • Mats Wilander could barely believe what he was watching during Gael Monfils's match against Fabio Fognini.

The pair played out a match that was "like watching tennis from the 80s", Wilander said because it was so slow.

As Wilander said, Monfils has always been a "strange and frustrating" player, but Fognini played his part in what was an unusually slow match.

Wilander also had his say on Andy Murray's marathon match with Philipp Kohlschreiber, which
