NASCAR drivers get put to the test about NHL

Most would agree that NASCAR and hockey have little crossover when it comes to their fan base, or do they really? So how did NASCAR drivers do when their knowledge of the NHL gets put to the test?

NHL fans come from all walks of life, rich, poor, in between, you name it.  One could say exactly the same about NASCAR fans. NHL players skate on ice shaped in an oval. NASCAR drivers race on oval shaped tracks.

There obviously may not be much overlap between the two fan bases, but they actually share more than most would imagine. Both began as regional sports to an extent and both the NASCAR and the NHL have seen significant revenue growth over the last two decades.

And one of the best parts about being an NHL fan AND a NASCAR fan has everything to do with the way in which their seasons play out, while one is ensconced in playoffs such as right now with four NHL teams vying for entry into the Stanley Cup Finals, the other is just getting started. 

So go out there this weekend and get the very best of the Coca-Cola 500 while watching the Penguins do there best to stay alive in Game 7 of the Conference Finals.
