Texas' Kris Boyd apologizes for halftime retweet

Texas defensive back Kris Boyd issued an apology through the school on Sunday for his retweeting actions on Saturday. During halftime of the Longhorns' blowout loss to TCU, Boyd retweeted a tweet suggesting that he and a teammate should transfer from the school.

As I've had time to reflect on my actions, and after personally apologizing to my coaches and teammates, I would also like to extend my sincerest apology to all of the Longhorn fans and family and everyone at UT! In NO Way did I intend to be disrespectful or disloyal. I deeply regret my actions and want to reassure everyone that I am 100% committed to this team and program. I take pride and honor in being a student-athlete at The University of Texas. I promise everyone that I will learn and grow from this.

Boyd was a four-star recruit in the class of 2015 according to Rivals and the No. 11 cornerback in the country.

The tweet was a joke (or maybe a serious question) from a Texas A&M fan. A&M was one of the finalists for his college destination. Texas coach Charlie Strong was asked after the game about Boyd's retweet and said his team's players shouldn't be on their phones at halftime.
