UNC reinstates DB Malik Simmons after short suspension
North Carolina defensive back Malik Simmons has been reinstated to the team, according to coach Larry Fedora.
Simmons had been indefinitely suspended on July 24 after a second arrest. He was scheduled to be in court on Monday, but instead was taking part in the Tar Heels first day of fall camp.

Simmons was cited in May for possession of marijuana and then arrested on July 24 and charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest. Police said Simmons, 21, was under the influence when he was arrested in the early morning hours. Simmons was supposed to have hearings Monday for both citations.
Simmons played in 12 games and started five for the Tar Heels last season. He had 34 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and three pass breakups.
