Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is a known prankster, a fact that was discovered this week by teammate and wide receiver Eric Decker.

Decker and several other Broncos, including free agent addition Wes Welker, are working out with Manning this week at the training facilities at Duke University. Manning played a prank on Decker, slipping him a very official-looking invoice seeking over $3,000 for what the fourth-year receiver out of the University of Minnesota thought were volunteer workouts.

The expenses included $2,500 ($500 per day) for on-field instruction from Duke's football staff, $100 for laundry service, $200 for "taping" and treatment from Duke's training staff and a $300 facility fee. The phony invoice incorrectly tabulated the amount of those services, Decker missed that as he focused on the total amount.

Decker is taking the prank in stride, which should be easy enough to do as the arrival of Manning in Denver caused Decker's production (and future earning potential) to explode.

After catching just 50 passes for 718 yards and nine touchdowns over his first two seasons, Decker had a breakout season in 2012, his first with Manning as his quarterback. Decker established career-highs with 15 starts, 85 receptions, 1,064 yards and his 13 receiving touchdowns ranked second in the entire National Football League.

Over his first three seasons in the NFL, Decker has earned a shade over $2 million. Last season, Decker earned the league minimum ($540,000) in base salary and, in March, received another $170,719 from the league's "performance-based pay" program. Decker is scheduled to earn $1.323 million (and around $5,600 for participating in the Broncos' offseason workout program) in the final year of his rookie contract.

The NFL goes 24/7/365, so don't miss a thing ...
