Can you imagine Vikings tweeting this Adrian Peterson photo last fall?

Apparently, the healing between the Minnesota Vikings and running back Adrian Peterson is complete.

The Vikings decided to celebrate their "Family Day" at training camp this past weekend by tweeting out this photo:

It's hard to imagine that was done without knowing the context. Or that it would draw some attention.

Last fall and winter, Peterson was sitting out 15 games after being indicted for injuring his young son when he was disciplining him with a switch. Peterson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault of his son in November. There were reportedly a lot of hard feelings between Peterson and the Vikings over the handling of the situation, with Peterson not feeling the team did enough to support him. Peterson held out of offseason activities before eventually reporting and getting a contract extension. Everyone was all smiles. The entire situation did a 180, almost instantly.

Forgive and forget seems to apply to the Vikings' relationship with Peterson, and perhaps vice versa. Again, it's very hard to believe the Vikings social media team didn't think about what happened last season when they tweeted out that photo. Every time Peterson has addressed the topic he has talked about regretting a mistake and that he loves his son and they have a good relationship. The Vikings apparently wanted to get that point across too.
