Three French rugby union stars have been hospitalised after being attacked by a gang.
Aurelien Rougerie, Julien Pierre and Benjamin Kayers were assaulted by a gang wielding machetes and swords in Millau, southern France.
Reports suggest the attacked occurred around 2am on Sunday.
Pierre and Rougerie played in the France team that lost to New Zealand in the 2011 World Cup final.

Pierre has "deep cuts" to his hip while Rougerie and Kayers have arm injuries, but none of the injuries are life threatening according to a statement by their club Clermont Auvergne.
Local police said the trio had been to a nightclub.
"A group of players were assaulted by a dozen people carrying weapons including machetes, knives, swords," Clermont said in a statement.
"We are deeply shocked and outraged by these acts and will bring all the necessary support to local authorities who have launched a probe."
