We asked our continental network of experts to give us the inside line on what to expect from each country as football returns to Europe's top leagues.

We wanted the five big questions that fans will be asking themselves ahead of the big kick-off.

Finally it is the turn of Serie A, where big-spending Napoli are hoping to dethrone Juventus.

1. Can Juventus beat their own record?

Antonio Conte will try to break a Juventus record by winning his third Scudetto in a row. The Bianconeri have not enjoyed such a feat since 1934, and Conte wants to make history.

2. What impact will Walter Mazzarri have at Inter?

After a season that witnessed 16 defeats and 57 goals conceded to leave left Inter in ninth place, the Nerazzurri are looking for revenge. Will the former Napoli manager be able to help one of the most glorious Italian football teams restore some prestige?

3. Can Napoli challenge for the title?

President Aurelio De Laurentiis has spent more money than anyone else in this summer, bringing in a superstar in Gonzalo Higuain and plenty of other players. But the truth is that with the departures of Mazzarri and Edinson Cavani, Napoli have ended a historical cycle. Will Rafa Benitez be able to do better?

4. Will Mario Balotelli become the player he has always threatened to be?

Many people believe that this will be the year of Supermario's consecration with AC Milan. Can we take the Capocannoniere title?

5. How will the derby clashes pan out?

For the first time in Serie A history there will be derbies in five cities: Milan: AC Milan and Internazionale; Turin: Juventus FC and Torino; Genoa: Sampdoria and Genoa; Rome: Roma and Lazio; Verona: Hellas Verona and Chievo Verona. It’s going to be a family affair!
