Transfer probabilities: Bale and Ronaldo close on moves

We all know who is linked with a move this summer - but it's harder to know just how likely the big transfers really are.

So we have used betting patterns to compile a list of transfer probabilities - from the predictable dead certs to the absurd long shots.

As the old saying goes, 'You rarely see a poor bookie', and that's because, aside from the occasional clanger, the oddsmakers usually get this sort of thing right.

Here are the latest odds on the main moves, converted into a percentage value - with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale both looking increasingly likely to make high-profile moves to Manchester United and Real Madrid, respectively.

The Tottenham and Real Madrid stars have both been linked with huge moves this summer, and the odds show that progress is finally being made - well, it is certainly perceived that way, and that is good enough for us.

The odds on Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar joining Arsenal from QPR is now considered less likely, while last week's edition indicates that these moves do often go ahead, with Carlos Tevez's 6/4 move to Juventus having already been confirmed.

Odds are given for each player's shortest-priced move, though many are linked with multiple clubs.
