Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky moments at huge sports events go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.
So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days in Brazil with the World Cup bringing us all some wonderful stories.
Did you see anything particularly noteworthy that passed off without mention? Feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments section below...
1) FUNNY BANNER LIFTS THE DOOM AND GLOOM - England fans react to miserable World Cup with humorous message
Well, at least they can now laugh about it. Kind of. These England fans reacted to their incredibly expensive and depressing trip to Brazil by producing this inspired banner.
The group received a very positive reaction to their banner on social media with ITV cutting to their message on several occasions during live coverage of England's goalless draw to end their miserable campaign.
Having lined up the final group fixture as the start of a wonderful World Cup adventure into the last 16, the fact that they can laugh off their woes, while spending yet more money on having the banner made, speaks volumes. It's certainly better than this banner...

2) 'IF YOU'RE THAT HUNGRY, LUIS...' - Food outlets poke fun at 'hungry' Suarez after shameful bite
It may be predictable but it is still funny.
While Nando's tweet came from its UK account, Uruguay McDonald's decision to rib the player may surprise some.
Hola @luis16suarez, si te quedaste con hambre vení a darle un mordisco a una BigMac ;)

3) POOR PRINCE HARRY, WHY THIS GAME? - Prince Harry turns up to watch England's dead rubber
It probably seemed like a good idea when Prince Harry arranged to travel out to Brazil to watch England's final group game against Costa Rica. However, the third in line to the throne was left with a dead rubber after Roy Hodgson's men were knocked out after just two games in Brazil.
So instead of watching England's first team secure their place in the next round, Harry witnessed the second string play out a meaningless encounter against the Costa Ricans, who were of course already through.
The Prince watched the game in Belo Horizonte as part of a royal tour of Brazil, during which he had also visited some of the sites for the 2016 Olympics, due to be held in Rio de Janeiro.

4) 'AN UGLY GESTURE FROM THE PLAYERS' - Spain's humiliated stars ignore upset fans at Madrid airport
It may have been a tumultuous World Cup campaign for reigning champions Spain but that did not prevent a hard-core selection of ‘La Roja’ fans from flocking to Barajas Airport to welcome them home. It did not go to plan though.
As the fans waited, news soon filtered through to the waiting crowd that their heroes were more than likely set to come through another entrance. Cue a mad dash to try to find the team from the waiting fans but it was to little avail.
The Spanish team had come through back door, leaving those fans who had made the journey to welcome back their fallen heroes disappointed.

5) 'ONE LUIS SUAREZ, THERE'S ONLY ONE...' - Liverpool fans serenade a Suarez lookalike on a budget airline flight
It's hardly the day for friendly banter about Suarez, who is very much attracting the wrong kind of attention and headlines following his horrific Bite III. But, well, here is a rather entertaining video nonetheless.
While it may not be a great time for being recognised as Suarez, this air steward quickly enjoyed the attention and soaked up the ovation as the British fans gave him a very warm welcome.
Being serenaded while striding down the plane will not be a regular thing for this air steward, but looking like Suarez is likely to bring about a mixed reaction over the coming months and years.
