You might be familiar with the new craze which has swept across the globe following Robin van Persie’s flying header against Spain… #persieing.

Social media has been awash with snaps from keen fans attempting to recreate the Dutchman’s landing for his equaliser in the astonishing 5-1 rout.

The trend even caught the attention of Van Persie’s 93-year-old grandfather Wim Ras, who was pictured lying face down on an antique rug on Wednesday.

“I thought it was a great landing”, Ras told Dutch publication Omroep Brabant.

He revealed that he was able to recreate his grandson’s magic moment due to once being a gymnast. “But it’s getting more difficult because it's not a position you get into every day,” he added.

It’s not the first that Ras has made the headlines either. In 2012, Van Persie revealed a t-shirt wishing his grandfather a happy 91st birthday after striking for Arsenal against his current club Manchester United.
