One insult follows another, it would seem to the striker himself, but the advert bearing his face had become somewhat of a farce in Brazil.
Adidas have taken down the poster of the snarling striker after it turned into a bit of a Copacabana tourist attraction post-bite saga.
With teeth bared and a ferocious expression, visitors - including roving rent-a-quote Chris Kamara - were eager to pose with various parts of their anatomy apparently between his jaws.
Some of the folk posing for pics threw themselves into it more convincingly than others, though, which deserves props:

Unfortunately, Adidas didn't find it as amusing as the rest of us - and have now replaced the poster with a rather more innocuous one.

Nobody will be queuing to have their picture taken with that and then tweeting it round the world, will they? Spoilsports.
Regarding their sponsorship of Luis Suarez, Adidas released a statement which read:
Adidas fully supports FIFA’s decision.
Adidas certainly does not condone Luis Suarez’s recent behaviour and we will again be reminding him of the high standards we expect from our players.
We have no plan to use Suarez for any additional marketing activities during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Still, one feels the company should have just left the advert up. It was proving to be a highly successful tourist prop for photos.
