A Melbourne pop band has released a rather catchy tribute anthem to French legend Zinedine Zidane.
The video of Vaudeville Smash’s ‘Zinedine Zidane ft. Les Murray’ – which features four mask-wearing football fans – has racked up close to half a million hits on YouTube.
You can check it out for yourself below:
While the verses essentially consist of a narrator naming famous footballers, the chorus is perfect sing-along material ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
In the music video, the Zidane wannabes sneak into a small convenience store and proceed to perform a variety of tricks – none of them quite Zidane-esque – before one of them unleashes a trademark headbutt.
The lyrics might not be the most original, but we reckon it’s far more worthy of a spot in your World Cup playlist than Pitbull’s official track.
