Olympic champion Thomas Morgenstern suffered a horrific training crash during a World Cup ski flying event in Tauplitz and the emotions were perfectly captured on Instagram.
Updates on his condition were first revealed on his own Twitter account.

Competition took place as scheduled on Saturday and fellow jumpers' messages of support on TV were relayed through social media.
Thankfully the Austrian is on the road to recovery and thanked everyone for their well wishes.
THANK YOU to my family, to the medical team and to everybody, who stands by my side! I'm so grateful for the recovery. All the best!

Morgenstern was not the only past Olympic champion to suffer drama last weekend as American skier Julia Mancuso revealed on her Facebook account.
However she was not too distracted by the incident, finishing 13th in the downhill at Altenmarkt.
And she is now looking forward to her third Games in Russia as she said on Facebook.
Her US team-mate Lindsey Vonn was ruled out of the Games last week but was quick to report on her knee surgery via her Facebook account.
Vonn's absence has left the path open for a new American golden girl at the Games and teenage figure skater Gracie Gold booked her place in the team at the US trials in Boston. The moment was captured on her Instagram account.
Olympic fever continues to build in the host country, even as far as Moscow where special Sochi subway trains are running.
As always we finish with our favourite image from the torch relay on Instagram.
