The ongoing Indian Wells Masters has been hit by a widespread viral infection which has already seen eight players withdraw from the competition.
A lesser-known disease, referred to in the medical world as "sudden disappearance of talent syndrome", is also said to be lingering around the Palm Springs area - but so far Andy Murray is the only person known to have succumbed to it.
A local medical centre said that the stomach-bug illness "is transmitted by air and direct contact and not passed via food".
It might as well have been caused by the world's top tennis players having just a little bit too much fun over the last week, though.
With no tournaments last week, the game's top stars let down their hair and enjoyed themselves without the pressure of trying to win ranking points.
New York, where exhibition games were being played at Madison Square Garden, seemed to be the Mecca for high-jinks, with Caroline Wozniacki taking on the role of chief prankster — well trying to, anyway.
The Dane plotted the perfect plan to surprise Maria Sharapova, but things didn't quite go to plan - as you can see in the video below.
Wozniacki might have had better luck punking her great friend and rival if she enlisted the help of her boyfriend — world number one golfer Rory McIlroy — who arrived on court during Wozniacki's exhibition to win a point against Sharapova.
Andy Roddick was up to his own fun and games when he played Roger Federer at the Garden, using the low-pressure environment to unleash his patented Rafael Nadal impression.
To Indian Wells, and the stars certainly seemed to be dressed to impress at the players' party to launch the tournament.
World number one Victoria Azarenka turned up with her fellow tennis player boyfriend Sergei Bubka Jr. In the men's rankings, the Ukrainian is the slightly less impressively-ranked world number 191 - but hey, true love conquers all.
Such parties of course give us mere mortals the perfect chance to gawk at people with much more money than us and judge them based purely on their fashion sense - so who is impressing you most out of these four: Caroline Wozniacki, Sorana Cirstea, Ana Ivanovic or Jelena Jankovic?
We know who these guys would go for - although Trammers suspects there might have been an argument over which unlucky sod had to paint an exclamation mark on his chest.
We have to do the same thing with the men too, of course, so who gets your vote — Rafael Nadal, Fernando Verdasco, Andy Murray or Novak Djokovic?
Speaking of Djokovic — what did the world number one do during his week off? Why, he stood on the wing of a plane of course!
But the one man who was probably having the most fun of all in the tennis world this week was multi Grammy award-winning singer John Legend, who seemed otherwise engaged while in Andy Roddick's box at Indian Wells.
Finally, last week Boris Becker told us all about what it was like to win Olympic gold with Michael Stich at the 1992 Olympics. Watch the interview below.
