he extreme sports hero decided to do something which was really crazy in Tahiti...
By Eurosport | World of Sport – Mon, Aug 3, 2015 09:19 BST
Robbie Maddison’s nickname is “Maddo” and we love how bonkers he really is.
The extreme sports hero decided to do something which made total sense to him: to ride his dirt bike across the powerful and iconic waves of Tahiti.
‘Maddo’ took his bike across the unforgiving terrain of the Pacific Ocean to fulfil his “Pipe Dream”.
The KTM 250 SX dirt bike was modified with specially-built skis which allowed him to ride on the ocean.
“I had a sickening feeling that this might be the one that kills me,” Maddison said, according to MTV.

What was BBC Sportsday presenter Chris Mitchell thinking here?
By Eurosport | World of Sport – Sat, Aug 1, 2015 11:32 BST
No one has been able to fathom exactly what BBC Sportsday presenter Chris Mitchell was thinking when he tapped away on his hand at the end of a bulletin report.
The bizarre moment came as his studio report ended and he pretended to tap an imaginary tablet or smartphone device live on air.
As the camera zoomed out at the end of his report, Mitchell was seen miming scrolling and swiping motions on the palm of his hand.
Mitchell, who may have thought no one would notice the lack of a device in his hand, responded to a Twitter user who suggested he had stolen the “iPad blooper” crown from fellow

Australian diver Maddison Keeney suffered a personal nightmare at the World Aquatic Championships as a horrendous dive scored 0.0.
Keeney, 19, was sitting fourth in the standings going into the final round in Russia and was attempting a dive with a difficulty of 3.2.
But her talents deserted her at just the wrong time as she executed her dive terribly.
In the end, Keeney produced the kind of dive that you see every day in your local swimming pool - a standard jump and plunge.
She was handed a big fat zero by all judges and slumped to last in the standings.

After a pulsating three weeks of racing our cycling blogger extraordinaire Felix Lowe dishes out his alternative Tour awards.
Worst crash: As scary as Geraint Thomas being cue-balled by Warren Barguil into a ditch via a plastic chair and a telegraph pole looked it was retrospective comedy gold by virtue of the Welshman getting back on his bike in time to joke about it at the finish line. For sheer fear factor, the mass pile-up in stage three wins this hands down. The on-bike and mechanic footage afterwards was chilling, with sounds and sights akin to a war zone. As for FDJ's William Bonnet -

A professional video game league is to test competitors for performance enhancing drugs.
By Eurosport | World of Sport – Fri, Jul 24, 2015 22:13 BST
An attendee holds a Microsoft Xbox controller while playing a video game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, in Los Angeles, California, United States, June 17, 2015
Yep, that headline is correct.
A professional video game league is to test competitors for performance enhancing drugs.
The idea of performance enhancing drugs in the world of video games may seem preposterous to some.
However, the decision was taken by the Electronic Sports League (ESL) after a team admitted to guzzling down prescription drug Adderall before a tournament.
Adderall, for those interested, is a so-called smart drug, as it helps the user concentrate and reduces fatigue – key ingredients for success at a gaming tournament.

Before you ask, we've no idea who this kid is, or what school he goes to, or what competition he's playing in right here.
This Tweet appears to be saying that his name might Kiwami Douga, but we have no way of confirming or denying it:
There's also this big chunk of Japanese script we found that may or may not contain the answer:
滑川総合 馬場優治選手(3年夏)
上尾市民球場 夏の埼玉大会 埼玉栄戦にて
代打で出場も、凡退となりましたが、馬場選手のこの打席のことはこの先
忘れることはありません!ほんとすごかった! 2年半の野球部生活お疲れ様でした!

You'd love to be an F1 star - instead, you're a chartered accountant. So what do you do? You buy a Ferrari to live your dream.
It's a story we've never really thought about until now, as this footage of a well-heeled Italian test driving a Ferrari F430 came across the World of Sport desk.
The chap in question was barrelling along a single carriageway road in Italy, burning up the local passers-by pootling along at normal speeds. (Which in Italy probably still means 80mph+ in all but the most traffic-ridden cities.)
Deciding to overtake one of these slowcoaches, he put his foot down, pulled
