Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky moments in sport go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.
So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days.
Feel free to bring any more to our attention in the comments section below...

1. Jose Mourinho turns practical joker
The Chelsea manager is a genius at pulling off drama and intrigue. But comedy? Not so much. That's the conventional view at least - but this video snippet from Chelsea's mid-week friendly against Vitesse Arnhem suggests he's got a devilish practical joker streak in him.
Despite almost 30 seconds of web searching we've not been unable to identify the chap whose shiny bald pate made an irresistible target for Mourinho with his paper bomb - not that it really matters, of course.
But if you know better than World of Sport, please feel free to identify the human roundel in the comments box below.

2. One to watch next season
Ever heard of Newcastle's Callum Roberts? Neither had we. But we definitely have now. The Magpies' academy player - born and bred in South Shields - was given a run-out in the pre-season friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt this week, and pulled off a goal that was nothing short of world class.
Let's hope he gets a proper run in the side in the Premier League this season - because if this is anything to go by, then Newcastle (and indeed England) could have a new star on its hands.

3. Felix who? Baumgartner out-done by French skydivers
Felix Baumgartner isn't having a good week. First news emerges from Germany that he's in the soup for some low-flying stunt in his helicopter above Munich airport, and now some French guys have outshone his whole jumping-out-of-a-balloon-from-24-miles-up stunt with their staggeringly beautiful photography of a 33,000ft skydive from above Mont Blanc.

4. Ultimate pre-season training technique for ice-cold sporting warriors
The New York Giants' loss of legendary coach Mike Pope is the Dallas Cowboys' gain.
But the players on Pope's new NFL team might be wishing he'd stayed in the Big Apple after the 71-year-old showed off his new training technique: chucking buckets of ice water on his shirtless charges as they try to concentrate on catching the ball.
"If they can't play with distractions, they can't play!" screams Pope. Crikey. Thanks for that.

The new season's EA Sports football game hasn't even been released yet, but there are already stories flooding the web that you can bite opponents if you play as Luis Suarez.
Internet spoof or genuine in-game feature? Only time will tell.
But in the mean time, let's stir up the internet conspiracy theories with our own Photoshop job showing the next frame of animation not included in the picture above:
