Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky moments at sports events go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.
So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days in the sporting world.
Did you see anything particularly noteworthy that passed off without mention? Feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments section below...
1) YES, IT'S MY WIFE'S PASSPORT! - Savage almost misses World Cup flight after passport cock-up
Robbie Savage (Twitter)
Yes, it's really true: BBC pundit Robbie Savage nearly missed his flight to Brazil for the World Cup after trying to use his wife’s passport.
The Welshman initially thought the lady at the check-in desk was just starstruck, but it was actually because he had accidentally brought his wife Sarah Savage’s passport instead of his own.
The pair have been married since 2002 and Sarah has long blonde hair like her husband. He tweeted after the debacle: "I’m going to have to tell my wife to get her haircut!" What a mess - the situation, we mean.

2) WOW, OKAY, THIS COULD BE AWKWARD - Italy stars struck by the intimacy of the toilet situation in Brazil
Peculiar toilet set-ups are clearly de rigueur at major international sporting events in 2014.
Italy's Andrea Ranocchia obviously wasn't following the major stories at Sochi particularly closely.
He's puzzled by the twin toilets he's encountered in Italy's training ground.

3) POP SONG WITH A HEADBUTT BONUS - Unofficial tribute song to Zinedine Zidane goes viral
You'd better believe it. A Melbourne pop band has released a rather catchy tribute anthem to French legend Zinedine Zidane.
The video of Vaudeville Smash’s ‘Zinedine Zidane ft. Les Murray’ – which features four mask-wearing football fans – has racked up close to half a million hits on YouTube.
In the music video, the Zidane wannabes sneak into a small convenience store and proceed to perform a variety of tricks – none of them quite Zidane-esque – before one of them unleashes a trademark headbutt. Classic.

4) WAIT, IS THAT WHO I THINK IT IS? - Sharapova steals the show on the London Underground during day out
Maria Sharapova posted a picture of herself travelling on the London Underground on Tuesday after she had spent the day at Queen's Club.
The French Open champion was out in west London to watch her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov beat Britain's James Ward in the second round of the AEGON Championships.
And yes, of course she managed a plug for her famous Sugarpova sweets while she was at it, revealing that she was embarking on a ‘PovaPopUp’ shop in London in time for Wimbledon. Aren’t we the lucky ones?

5) THERE'S ACTUALLY NO ESCAPE! - No chance of avoiding World Cup scores with Tube updates
Worried about missing out on the World Cup because you have to commute home after work? Fret not. Those ever-helpful folk at Transport for London have arranged a £100,000 deal with ESPNFC to provide score updates on the underground.
And yes, that means they'll be using the dotmatrix displays - more usually used to show when the next train is due - to make sure everyone knows the latest scores and scorers.
That does also mean, though, that if you're planning to watch on a catch-up channel once you get in there will be no way of avoiding spoilers. Thanks, TfL...
