Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky stories in sport go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.
So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days.

Remember the huge story that Jack Wilshere at first denied, then was forced to apologise for, smoking outside a London nightclub back in October? Yeah, well he's been caught again.
Is this just a young man trying to let off some steam in the post-season, or is it everything that's wrong with English football? Inevitably, the reaction has been polarised.

I'm not having it that Jack Wilshere gets singled out for smoking and drinking while he's on his holidays. Some people love to be outraged.

2) HOW DARE YOU, RIHANNA! - Pop star breaks FIFA guidelines, all for a good picture
Rihanna on Twitter
Pop superstar Rihanna broke World Cup etiquette when she got her hands on the trophy during Germany’s post-match party.
FIFA guidelines have previously said that only winners of the tournament and heads of state are allowed to handle the official World Cup Trophy.
But Rihanna – who had earlier lifted her top inside the Maracana during Germany’s 1-0 win over Argentina – was pictured holding the solid-gold prize and later revealed she had kissed and posed for a ‘selfie’ with the famous trophy.

3) YOU COULDN'T HAVE WON THIS AS A KID - Hansen presented with farewell gift by Lineker and the BBC
Gary Lineker on Twitter
Alan Hansen has now stepped down as a leading pundit for the BBC and, to say farewell and thank you, Gary Lineker presented him with a commemorative trophy.
The 59-year-old Scot stood down from his role after the World Cup Final between Germany and Argentina on Sunday and he duly received recognition from his partner in crime.
Lineker took to Twitter to post a picture of the two of them posing together with the silverware, which was engraved with the words: “Alan Hansen "Simply the best". From all your friends at BBC Sport.”

4) OH NO, WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS VIDEO ABOUT? - Blackburn produce probably the worst club video of all time
Now, if you can avoid watching this video then please do at all costs. Blackburn Rovers are about to make you dislike them as a club for bringing this into the world.
In a video that should really be banished for all time, the Championship side have used madcap fan Alan ‘Birdy’ Birkbeck to show off their new kit.
It all centers around him preparing for a hot night out, complete with cheesy sex music, but instead of a lovely lady, he is getting ready for an evening with the kit. Yes, horrible. Truly horrible.

5) WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? REALLY, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? Fan gets crazy double-star kit combo
Sometimes fans do not have the best judgement, and in this case that’s a big understatement.
Arsenal released their new Puma kits for the coming season last week and one fan decided that the yellow away strip needed a bit of ‘doing up’.
Apparently unable to decide between getting the name of centre-backs Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny, he went for a crazy concoction that he must have instantly regretted. At least we hope so.
