Peter Prevc broke the ski flying world record by soaring 250 metres in an extraordinary performance at Vikersund in Norway.
The Slovenian produced an astounding gravity-defying feat to beat the previous record of 246.5m, set in 2011 by Norway's Johan Remen Evensen, also at Vikersund.
Prevc had leapt 245.5mm in qualifying, prompting speculation of a possible world record, and he delivered in truly spectacular fashion.
Prevc soared 237.5 metres with his first competitive jump before his record-breaking second flight gave him an unbeatable total of 438.8 points to win the competition.
