  • Man's blindfold crazy tightrope walk between skyscrapers - and no safety net

Nik Wallenda cheated death with his blindfold tightrope walk between two skyscrapers in Chicago - without any safety equipment at all.

Nik Wallenda isn't your average bloke.

While you were at home on Sunday night watching Downton Abbey or Homeland, he was walking between two skyscapers in Chicago.

And not via a zebra crossing, either: the 35-year-old Floridan traversed the gap via a wire suspended 500ft above street level.

He did so without any harness, net or other safety equipment.

And just for good measure, he wore a blindfold.

I mean, really. What are you trying to prove, Nik? A blindfold as well?

Well, whatever he was trying to prove, he proved it: Wallenda successfully crossed the void between the Marina City towers,

Snooker legend Jimmy White has revealed the depths of his drug addiction in his new autobiography.

Second Wind, which is being serialised in the Sun, details what is referred to as a “three-month crack spree” after losing his World Championship final to Steve Davis in 1984.

Crack cocaine, said to be the most addictive form of cocaine, is smoked to give the user an intense but brief high - and White moved on to that form of the drug having previously snorted it.

White also reveals that the nadir of his period of bingeing cost him a staggering £32,000.

Along with another snooker player, Kirk

  • Is this the greatest high-five ever seen?

Crazy freestyle skier finds amazing way to do a high-five.

Top skier and stuntman Johan Berg is a specialist at the slopestyle category of the sport – and this is why!

He shows off his showboating skills with a quite unbelievable clip of him high-fiving a friend in mid air while performing a quite ridiculous stunt off a slope.

The Norwegian also seems remarkably laid back about the whole thing, completing the high-five with Aleksander Aurdal and acting in a very nonchalant fashion afterwards.

Berg achieved the incredible stunt at the Prime Park Sessions Snowpark on Stubai Glacier in Austria.

What on earth will he think up to do next?

  • Whoops! Star's gesture to fan goes very badly

Star attempts kind gesture, but it does not go according to plan.

Isn't it lovely when sports stars attempt to make kind gestures for the fans who support them?

Well, it really is admirable, but only if the attempt goes according to plan.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Chris Polk was in jubilant mood during his NFL team's victory over the Houston Texans, but made a real mess of his interaction with a fan.

Polk attempted to kindly throw the ball to an Eagles fan in the stands after a touchdown was scored, only for it to go badly wrong as he hit a female fan square in the face and arm.

Now, was it the fan's fault for not concentrating on what her hero was

  • Yes, that's a great white shark chasing a surfer

Scary moment great white shark stalks a surfer.

Shark chases surfer (Twitter - Frits de Bruyn)Shark chases surfer (Twitter - Frits de Bruyn)

This is the frightening moment a 3m great white shark started stalking a surfer back to shore - on the very spot where just two weeks before another man lost his arm and hand in a shark attack.

Andy Johnston was surfing at West Beach near Perth, when folks ashore spotted the dark shadow looming and began honking their horns as a warning.

Incredibly, he escaped unharmed after catching a timely wave. He said he didn't think the shark posed a threat.

"It wasn't that big, it looked smaller than a dolphin. If you're going to say a shark is a threat every time you see one, well that's not true.
