A London Sunday League team have attracted an unlikely fan base in Argentina.

Huracan FC London are supported by over 2,500 South American Facebook members, who celebrated after the team clinched the Southern Sunday League Division Three title on Sunday.

Huracan's Facebook page contains hundreds of messages of support and advice from the team's Spanish-speaking followers, who were sent into raptures by the 4-0 win against Wandsworth Warriors.

Player manager Henry May set up the team after living in Buenos Aires in 2009, when he became a supporter of Argentine first division team Club Atletico Huracan.

The Clapham-based side started to pick up fans when it was mentioned on the radio, and the support has blossomed from there.

May told Metro: "Within three or four days we had hundreds of Facebook fans. From there things just grew and grew."

Such is the passion for the team that they have even started selling replica shirts at £30 each.
