.
Players
at Spanish third-tier side Pontevedra were so sick of not being paid by their
cash-strapped club that they decided to stage a protest.

But
rather than blockade the ground whilst holding placards or get their mascot to
stage a sit-in
, the players simply refused to play for the first
minute of a league match against fellow Segunda B side Lugo.

When
the whistle blew all 11 players sunk to their knees to make clear their feelings at going five months without wages.

Their
non-plussed opponents decided not to take advantage of the protest,
however, instead simply passing the ball back and forth between themselves until Pontevedra's men returned to their feet.

Not that they need have bothered: the
visitors won in any case, thanks to a last-minute goal by Gorka
Azkorra to complete a hat-trick and give Lugo a 3-2 victory.
