A golfing grandmother from Surrey has made the fifth hole-in-one of her golfing career.

Seventy-four year old Sheila Boniface recorded her fifth ace using a 3-wood on the 150-yard 5th hole at Chipstead, Surrey where she has been a member for 24 years.

But it was her husband who was hit in the pocket after he was left to settle the bill for the traditional drinks all round.

"I didn't even realise it had gone in at first. I thought it had gone into a bush!" joked the modest pensioner, whose last ace came nine years ago.

" I know it seems strange, but I always thought I could do another one," she told the Epsom Guardian.

"I hit fairly straight these days - straight and boring I like to say - because I'm getting old now."

But husband Tony, also 74, was left kicking himself about having to pay for the celebration drinks.

"It's cost me a fortune in the past - it's a very expensive pastime," Tony said with a smile.

"You can get insurance against it but I've always decided not to - I always think 'she's not going to do it again'.

"I've told her if she does it again I'll have to send her out to work."
