We've seen some bizarre sights at World of Sport but this one really corners the market.
The above picture shows a rather unconventional running track which has been constructed in Heilongjiang, China.
Under pressure to get the track constructed before their superiors visited, it is reported that officials working on the forestry administration stadium in Tonghe county took matters into their own hands.
And rather than finishing the track in the manner you might expect, they instead did a rush job by marking the two 'bends' out in straight lines to save the effort of doing the usual oval shape.
As you can imagine, the current set up would make the 400m rather tricky.
"It is difficult to turn and easy to fall," local resident Gong Xiaona told provincial television programme Newsnight, as reported by AFP.
Someone who worked on the stadium also told the channel: "The current tracks were laid in a rush to deal with the visit by some provincial leaders.
"We ourselves feel it's ugly. But who can change it if our bosses don't care?"
Ugly? It's one of the most beautiful sights we've ever seen.
