A selection of the best
photos from South Africa, with Spain winning despite the presence of Iker
Casillas's girlfriend's in Johannesburg.
Having been vilified for
'putting off' the Spain goalkeeper during their opening defeat to Switzerland,
Sara Carbonero managed to avoid further criticism this time round, despite
taking up her usual position behind the goal - probably because Spain
managed to beat Honduras at Ellis Park.
Still, the result didn't
dampen this Honduran fan's enjoyment of the game - she was all smiles, despite
knowing exactly how many goals Spain would put past her team.
Spain win, fans celebrate. Is
this just an excuse to put another pretty girl on these pages? Absolutely.
In fact, it seems the only man not smiling at Ellis Park was
Spanish defender Gerard Pique who suffered a painful night, first getting hit
by the ball in the crown jewels before taking a blow to the mouth which
resulted in his spitting blood.
Honduras star David Suazo risks suffering the same fate as
Pique - only he managed to escape unscathed.
Switzerland's Valon Behrami can't quite believe what he has
done - exactly why did he go for that second all-over arm tattoo?
Ever wondered how the
television brings you those fantastic overhead shots of the pitch? Here's the
gadget that makes it all possible.
Is this Chile fan in Santiago on his way up or down? It's
difficult to say, but what is for sure is that he's one happy camper after his
side's victory over Switzerland.
Preening? Moi? Cristiano Ronaldo mistakes the pitch during
Portugal's 7-0 drubbing of North Korea for an Armani underpants photoshoot.
Still, the scoreline probably warranted the cheesy grin.
And finally, spare a thought for mutinous French team
captain, Patrice Evra, who seems to be contemplating the big mess his side find
themselves in ahead of the do-or-die clash with South Africa.
