Eritrean cycling star Biniam Girmay crashed out of the Giro d'Italia on Tuesday's fourth stage.Girmay, third in the stage 24 hours earlier, took a heavy fall on a descent ahead of the final intermediate sprint on a wet right hand bend around 67km from the finish.
Tim Merlier won the third stage of the Giro d'Italia on Monday, pipping Jonathan Milan to the line in a bunch sprint after race leader Tadej Pogacar made a bold attempt to steal victory."I saw Milan was starting his sprint on the left side and I knew I was going to be first or second and I'm happy I won this one."
Ecuadorian Ineos rider Jhonatan Narvaez won a ferocious struggle on the opening stage of the Giro d'Italia  on Saturday to deny pre-race favourite Tadej Pogacar in the final sprint and snatch the overall leader's pink jersey."You don't get many chances like that," he said of taking the pink jersey.
