    • 90+4 The final whistle goes - a famous point for 10-man Ethiopia, who come from behind to hold the defending champions!
    • 90+4 Time wasting and Butako is booked. He was delaying a throw.
    • 90+4 ETHIOPIA SUB: Teshome comes off for Ibrahim.
    • 90+3 Mayuka flies down the left, he has Mbesuma coming in but he overhits the cross. Meanwhile, the replay shows the previous incident - where Girma's cross hit a defender's arm.
    • 90+2 Girma with a fine touch to bring down a high ball - he cross for Said who tries a spectacular volley but he fails to connect!
    • 90+1 Three minutes added time being played.
    • 90' Mayuka is harshly adjudged offside after getting clear down the left. That looked dodgy.
    • 89' Mayuka on the left tries to cross in but Elias clears.
    • 88' That was a waste. A clever routine that saw Sinkala found unmarked on the edge of the box, but he smacks it high and wide. Awful, even if it did bobble.
    • 87' Hintsa fouls Mayuka and Zambia have a free-kick on the right wing.
    • 86' Sinkala sends Mbesuma clean through but he is offside!
    • 85' Terrible from Mulenga as he smashes a shot (or was it a cross?) high and wide.
    • 84' ZAMBIA SUB: Southampton's Mayuka comes on for Katongo. A striker for a striker.
    • 83' Mbesuma commits a foul as he tried to turn his marker in the box.
    • 82' Good keeping by Tadele as Jacob Mulenga raced on to a low ball from Sunzu on the left.
    • 80' Girma on the right wing, into Hintsa and he rifles in a low ball that is blocked.
    • 79' Ethiopia have a free-kick after the keeper is caught, and he promptly hits the deck holding his knee to waste some time.
    • 78' Good save by Tadele as, after a mazy run from Jacob Mulenga, a bobbling low effort from Mbesuma threatened to sneak in. Corner.
    • 77' Gubena with an attempted lob with Mweene off his line, but well over.
    • 76' An Ethiopia player is down. They've used all their subs I think... No, one left. It was Girma, he's fine.
    • 75' ZAMBIA SUB: Chansa on for Mukaka Muelenga.
    • 74' BIG MISS MULENGA! Free header as he flew in unmarked, but it comes off the side of his head and loops over! Katongo was also unmarked, could have called for it but Mulenga was superbly placed, he just messed up the contact!
    • 73' Said with a superb turn again but he commits a foul and Zambia have it back. Ethiopia do not look a man light right now.
    • 72' Zambia launching the ball forward now as a super cut-back from Kalaba is hacked clear. Sunzu commits a foul on Said.
    • 71' Mweene claims the free-kick well, it was a bit too high for Said and co.
    • 70' The replay shows that Hailu tugged his shirt! Should have been a penalty!
    • 69' Mbesuma goes down in the box and wants a penalty! But the ref says it's a dive!
    • 68' Great ball from Nkausu but intercepted nicely by Elias.
    • 67' Ethiopia play the ball out of defence with some confidence. Looking good suddenly.
    • 66' Zambia look to respond from that as they launch attack after attack from the restart.
    • 65' GOAL ETHIOPIA! 1-1! INSTANT IMPACT FROM HINTSA! Fantastic ball to Said, who flicks it in on the right for Girma, who finishes off the inside of the near post.
    • 64' ETHIOPIA SUB: Girma comes on for Kebede.
    • 64' Slide tackle by Gobena, who seemed to go in with two feet.
    • 63' A high ball almost puts Said through but, again, the bounce takes it over him and into Mweene's arms.
    • 61' Ethiopia on the attack again but Sunzu runs the ball out as Said gives chase.
    • 60' ZAMBIA SUB: Mulenga replaces Musonda. Mulenga was injured when they won it last year.
    • 58' Zambia come again but Mbesuma wildly smacks it over.
    • 57' Comical from both sides as a weak pass manages to bypass four players before Mbesuma decides to control it and shoot wide.
    • 56' Katongo with a long-ange effort that takes a deflection and goes wide for a corner.
    • 55' Zambia have really gone off the boil for some reason. They should be looking to add to their lead.
    • 54' Tesfaye again on the ball and he manages to clear his lines.
    • 53' Free-kick to Zambia but, taken quickly, it's a poor ball in, well over.
    • 52' Ethiopia on the move now but Kebede shows too much of the ball to Musonda after a nice ball from Tesfaye.
    • 51' A Zambia player is down holding his head. It's Chansa.
    • 50' Oddly enough Ethiopia are still looking dangerous as Musonda has to hack it clear as Kebede and Said come through.
    • 49' Ethiopia are managing to get it forward but there's no support for Said and in the end he blasts it over.
    • 48' Kebede leads a counter for Ethiopia now, but he's challenged well by Himoonde when he was about to find Said.
    • 47' Musonda finds Katongo, who holds the ball up and draws a foul.
    • 46' Zambia straight on the offensive but Tadelle claims after Musonda swung one in.
    • 46' The second half is underway.
    • 45+4 Half-time and Zambia lead 1-0, Ethiopia missing a penalty and a man down after their keeper was sent off.
    • 45+4 Ethiopia fans are chucking their vuvuzelas on the pitch in disgust.
    • 45+3 GOAL ZAMBIA! Fantastic strike by Mbesuma after Katongo's super flick-on inside an admittedly shaky defence. He took it down his chest and rifled it home.
    • 45+2 Officially only three minutes added time??! Bizarre - the game was stopped for eight minutes!!
    • 45+1 Musonda is booked for breaking up an Ethiopia counter with a trip on Kebede.
    • 45' Great low ball from Kalaba but a superb interception by Hailu, as Katongo was unmarked.
    • 44' Ethiopia with a spell of possession, they would do well to keep hold of it for a while.
    • 43' Surely only a matter of time now as Zambia swarm forward, Kalaba finds Lungu, but he overhits the ball in.
    • 41' Finally play restarts as Mbesuma swings in the free-kick - but he sends it well wide.
    • 40' Hailu is booked, one assumes for dissent. The free-kick will finally be taken.
    • 39' ETHIOPIA SUB: Tadele, the sub keeper, replaces Bekele after the dismissal of Tassew.
    • 37' The officials are dealing with objects thrown on to the pitch, hence the delay. Tadele, Ethiopia's sub keeper, wants to come on for obvious reasons.
    • 36' All kinds of nonsense as Ethiopia try to work out what to do now they have no keeper. Not sure what the issue is.
    • 36' Tassew's delaying tactics do not work - he is taken off on the stretcher, and shown a red card.
    • 35' Lungu is up and strolls to the touchline but Ethiopia's keeper Tassew is still down. He's going to get sent off though - the ref is getting ready to show the red card.
    • 34' Both Lungu and Tassew are down hurt and have been for a few minutes. Tassew could be in trouble once he gets up.
    • 32' A long ball splits the Ethiopia defence, and Lungu is in! He's in but Tassew rushes out, clobbering Lungu just after he chips the ball on goal. It goes wide, but this could be trouble for the keeper as - while the ball had gone - his foot was high, he was late and both are down!
    • 31' Musonda with a cross aimed for Katongo but it's brought away by Elias.
    • 30' Shemeles miscontrolls a long pass from the Zambia right and it's a throw.
    • 29' Good keeping from Tassew as a free-kick from wide is left by everyone, with Zambia's forwards piling in. But Tassew read it and claimed well.
    • 28' Said again gets hold of the ball, on the right this time, but again his shot is poor, well wide.
    • 27' Great dribbling from Said, cutting inside to work the shot, but it's well wide.
    • 25' GOOD SAVE TASSEW! From the goal kick Zambia went on the offensive, Katongo putting in a low drive that the Ethiopia keeper palms behind. Corner.
    • 24' Said won the penalty and will take it - BUT A GREAT SAVE MWEENE! The penalty was placed to the right and Mweene read it right, fisting it away.
    • 23' PENALTY ETHIOPIA! Fantastic counter attack as Said is picked out by a fantastic pass from Kebede, the Wadi Degla man cutting inside and tripped by Nkausu!
    • 21' Big chance for Katongo, who puts it over after being found with a free header by Kalaba! Should have got that on target! Great cross by Kalaba!
    • 20' Corner to Zambia now as they respond to that big chance for Ethiopia. Piling the pressure on!
    • 19' Zambia again break quickly, short passing to cut through Ethiopia, but Mbesuma can't release Katongo.
    • 18' Zambia on the counter now as Mbesuma gets in but he flicks it well over.
    • 17' UNLUCKY ETHIOPIA! They are denied by the horrible surface after Said chips the onrushing Mweene - but it bounces off the rock-hard surface, freakishly landing over the net. Bizarre, and the player is blameless.
    • 16' Unfortunate for Ethiopia as Said and Kebede collide with each other after Teshome played it through.
    • 15' Katongo with a cute turn on the edge of the box, Musonda with a better cross this time but half-cleared to Chansa - but he shoots well over.
    • 14' Great long ball from Mweene the Zambia keeper, he releases Musonda down the left but his cross is poor. Shame.
    • 13' Ethiopia come again as Teshome is found on the left, decent ball in but hoofed clear by Sunzu, who is everywhere at the moment.
    • 12' The pitch at Mbombela Stadium is not nearly as good as that in Port Elizabeth for yesterday's matches. Hard and ragged, ball bouncing around.
    • 11' Said is taken down by Sunzu and he is booked. The first of the game.
    • 9' The ball beats everyone apart from Sunzu on the left but his cut back is poor and Bekele clears.
    • 8' Asrat is penalised for a high boot although he was nowhere near the opponent. Free-kick which Mbesuma will swing in....
    • 7' Mbesuma on the move now but a weak shot is easy for keeper Tassew.
    • 6' Throw to Zambia on the right comes off Mbesuma and flies over for a goal kick.
    • 5' Ethiopia on the counter but Said - who is the most expensive Ethiopian player after a £200,000 move to Wadi Degla in Egypt - loses possession. He is Ethiopia's star man, with 10 goals in 14 internationals.
    • 4' Half-chance for the Ethiopians as Teshome fires over after Zambia fail to clear the corner! Could have been a shock goal!
    • 3' The drone of the vuvuzela is quite something. I'd forgotten about that, or rather put it at the back of my mind. Ethiopia with a bit of possession, Sunzu clearing for the defending champs.
    • 2' First effort on goal is well over from Sunzu of Zambia.
    • 1' The first half is underway!
    • 14:55 The players are coming out onto the pitch - Zambia in their traditional green, and Ehtiopia in yellow. A good time to remind you that you can follow the latest news from us at Eurosport on Twitter @EurosportCom_En - Follow!
    • 14:50 Early days in the tournament, of course, but if we see a celebration better than Congo goalkeeper Robert Kidiaba's bumshuffle, it will be fairly spectacular. You can watch it on the website. Enjoy!
    • 14:45 Also taking place in Group C later today is Nigeria v Burkina Faso. Those two clash at 18:00 UK time in the same stadium in Nelspruit. Group C fixtures/results/table
    • 14:40 So 10 of the 11 Zambian players who started the 2012 African Cup of Nations final are in the line up today, with only Mayuka missing out and Mbesuma taking his place. Ethiopia will start as underdogs having not reached the finals since 1982.
    • 14:35 ZAMBIA: Mweene, Nkausu, Himoonde, Sunzu, Musonda, Lungu, Chansa, Sinkala, Kalaba, Katongo, Mbesuma /// ETHIOPIA: Tassew, Butako, Hailu, Eliase, Tesfaye, Megersa, Teshome, Bekele, Girma, Kebede, Seid

  7. Thank God we have managed to have to share a point with Zambians. To be honest, it was us Ethiopians who deserve to win the game. We played very well and dominated much of the time of the game. Had Saladin's penalty not been missed, we would won the game. Most of the biggest players have also missed penalties -so I don't blame Saladin for mistakes he made. He has compensated missing out the penalty assisting a nice ball to Adane Girma. Thank you all my country men for fighting to the end. The good thing now is Nigeria, too, drew with Burkina bee. All teams have an equal point. Hopefully we beat Burkina, and the Zambia and Nigeria showdown will probably be ended with a draw. Then my country Ethiopia will begin to sit on top of the other three teams. And the last game we will have with Nigerians will also be expected to be a blow for Nigeria. I am confident we will beat them.

  12. A Good game to watch, and the Ethiopians showed a great character and determination to come back from a goal down with only 10 players for almost 1 hour. They showed they are not scared of the champions and played good football and deserved a draw at least. It will give them a great confidence for the coming games barring any red cards. With Nigeria and Burkinafaso drawing, it is wide open for them to qualify from the group. Well done boys.
