Mario Balotelli was the star for Italy as he scored twice in a 2-1 win over Germany in their Euro 2012 semi-final at the Stadion Narodowy. More

Germany is not that behind spain wihen the Manger changed 3 players aganist Greence and won only Spain are able to put 3 different and win a match so germany still have plenty of talent players almost like Spain.
It never ceases to amaze me how being black in Europe no matter if your only one within the team will still ensure you are blamed for failure of your national team. Boateng is being blamed for a poor german effort, not Podolski, Gomez or Muller, but it had to Boateng. The same attitude seems to persist with the commentary from the so called experts, especially those who commented on Eurosport screening this of the game. The negative comments came thick and fast even with Balotelli scoring the two goals to fire Italy into the final, all I heard was negativity for the commentary. The example continues with the type of response to the two Ashley's missing the penalties for England, no mention to Wayne Rooney for the Fourth Tournament showing he is not the the saviour for England. Each Englan manager believes he is he is not, if there is someone to blame for England's not achieving look at Gerrard, Rooney, Parker and Milner all poor, negative and ineffectual.
i love germany................ i"m TOO mad that we loss.................... and YUAKHIM LU is the BEST........................ i hope they be success..........
Jurgen Lows keeps picking Boatang there is Howdes,Lars Bender who I think did well aganist Demark and scored the vital goal. There is Marcel Scmelzer he plays with Hummels for Dortmund maybe they can transfer this from Club to international team.
Germany manager did make a mistake but he did make changes in 2nd half and germany did have 45minutes to score and didnt.you cant blame him for putting toni kross insted of Thomas Muller because he hasnt played that well for Bayern and in this touremant as well as lukas poldasike.
the Italian coach had the right strategy on how to break the German defense, just think Lahm marking Balotelli one on one never in your lifetime, impossible. that was the biggest mistake by the German coach. the best team won. end of story.
I do wish people didn't drag politics or racism into sport! Germany lost to a better team ON THE NIGHT - up to then they performed best of all, I don't think they have any reason to feel ashamed. Italy played pityfully at first but improved after defeating England and I await the final just hoping to see some goals before the end and once again I hope the best ones win!
If Germany reach any finals 99% will win who ever they come against South American or African or Europeans teams.Unfortunally are not reaching final at the moment. on different subject looking forward see Gotez and Reuss playing together for Borrissia Dormund.
Spain will gone crash Italy.
Good for italy- we england well held this italian team and had roy picked his winning team we could hav e gone on further. Why oh why did he scrap his winning team with a superb athlete up front and replace him with a cart horse. What an insult to andy carrol b y being replac ed with a cart horse-though roy had more brains--when will they learn.
Ilona - this is exactlly what you are - racist. The "Afro-Italian is a human and quite talented at his work. It's understood people like you don't see the good others do only because you don't tolerate them. Refering a human being to an animal? Shame on you!!
llona is a confused racist. Instead of congratulating "Mario The Great" she resorted to animalic description. You a diappointed because no one did that before. Shame on you.
This is not a racist comment. Only my observation. The Afro-Italian Barotelli is hardly can be called for a human being... he has so much animalic in him....
Italy are the team of the tournament and Pirlo a super example of how the game should be played. But the coach deserves great praise for providing us with THE only team which had any sort of answer to beating the square, rigid, defensive formations favoured by everyone else because they are/were more afraid of losing than actually trying to win (without either the players or tactics to do it). With Pirlo the master, Italy were not afraid of doing the obvious - knocking the ball over the top and running through the opposing square defence. Simple really. We see it every week in Div 2 and 3 in the UK!!!
I would argue that Russia and Ukraine or even Poland are cursed lands for the Germans. After all, their demise in WW II found root in such eastern lands. It is not surprising that they succumbed in such geography. However, the important thing is that the match was very enjoyable for all spectators, including the Germans, who should now lick their wounds and understand what a great side they are. In my view, England is a great side but they should at some point play as "team GB" to have any chance of reaching the top spot. They held back Italy very well thanks to Terry who in spite of his off-pitch behaviour, and his nasty boy graduation from the Mourinho school of cheats and referee spitting and insulting behaviour, is in my opinion the best defender that England has ever had. If England played as team GB they could strengthen all weak positions. It is a pity, for they played so well against Italy. The players deserve more wins.
u know ur successful when ur defeat makes them all happy.
Reading a lot of the comments shows once more how pathetic the lifes of most commenting on here. Now I understand why soap operas so cheap.
To say that football is a Latin game makes you not only amnesiac but also shows lack of knowledge regarding the history of this game/sport.
It's not surprising to me how many people tend to suffer from selective amnesia after a game in which their team won. From a neuro-psychological point of view is perfectly explainable but as we are on a forum about football I won't bore you with scientific explanaitions. Though, from a sporting point of view, if one desires to be critic and honest, it must look for the facts and not let himself/herself be guided only by emotions. All those Italy fans who, no question about it, are happy their team won and they should be so, must not forget what the facts of the game say. Theur beloved team did not dominate the game as they assume, but played a good strategical game and benefited from two major defensive errors by the Germans. The Germans had the posession, had more shots and chances to score (mainly in the first 15 minutes of the game when the Italians were lucky to escape goaless), won most of the duels but were a bit unlucky and also had to deal with a very well organised defense and a very inform Buffon (for me he's the man of the match not Pirlo). So, Italy rightly won, but the score does not reflect perfectly what happened on the pitch but this is a cruel reality of this sport. I don't want to minimize Italy's win. Not at all. They won and this is what counts in the end. I just want to make aware those who suffer from that nationalistic selective amnesia who makes them now believe they are the best team in the world. Winning a European Cup semi-final does not make you the best team in the world. No question that the Italians are one of the best in this sport. Yes, I am a Germany fan and I'm sad Germany lost but I can be honest enough to congratulate the winners, Italy but also try to keep myself away from this kind of amnesia. I do not care who wins the title now, but hope it will be a great and open game, though I doubt it. To say that football is a Latin game makes you not only amnesiac but also shows lack of knowledge regarding the hi

Not the only star performer for Italy by a long shot, but Balotelli's well-taken brace was what ultimately sent Germany packing.
