The French side led 1-0 at the break and then doubled their lead just 10 minutes after the restart after Donnarumma failed to deal with Yazici's strike from the edge of the penalty area. The visitors then made it 3-0 just three minutes later, after a quick counter was finished off by the striker. Milan never really got going in the second half and despite a couple of chances, Lille looked very comfortable and in control.

Milan fail to clear the danger following David's chance and Romagnoli barges into the back of Yazici as the pair battle for the ball just inside the penalty area and the striker goes down straight away, as there seems to be a heavy contact. The referee immediately points to the spot and Lille have the chance to take an early lead.
- 20'SAVE! Donnarumma is called into action for the first time in the game as Lille break forward quickly and David gets in behind the Milan defence and fires a low shot towards goal. However, the keeper makes himself big and makes a superb stop to deny the visitors.

Hernandez gets forward down the left, overlaps Ibrahimovic and sprints into the box, he takes on Botman at the near post and tries to drill the ball into the back of the net from a tight angle. However, the defender gets across well and blocks the effort, sending it into the side netting.
