Mikel Arteta believes Nicolas Pepe’s adaptation period at Arsenal is over and there are no excuses for him not to continue his fine form. Pepe has struggled at times since joining Arsenal in the summer of 2019 from Lille for a club record fee of £72million. More recently, however, the Ivorian has begun to show his potential and his goal on Thursday night against Slavia Prague was his second in his last three games.
Tottenham are not. Had Kane been wearing blue at Goodison Park then Everton would have won the match comfortably. As impressive as Hugo Lloris was in keeping Richarlison, James Rodriguez and Josh King at bay, Kane would not have given him the chance to be Spurs’ saviour.
Tottenham star Harry Kane suffered an apparent ankle injury against Everton to put his role in next week’s Carabao Cup Final in doubt. Kane, who has a history of ankle problems, appeared to twist his ankle after getting it caught under a falling Richarlison in the closing stages of Spurs’ 2-2 Premier League draw at Goodison Park on Friday night. Kane squatted down holding his ankle before receiving treatment, but shook his head and limped off the pitch to be replaced by Dele Alli.
